This morning’s story can be found in both Matthew 4 and Luke 4.

Talk with your kids about a temptation they face. Pray with them and ask God to help them stand up against temptation and trust Jesus for help. Remind them that Jesus has gone before them. He has faced temptation just as they do, but He never sinned. Jesus is the perfect sacrifice for our sin, and He doesn’t require us to be perfect before we come to Him.

Mention to your kids that they may feel a sense of relief knowing that God doesn’t require perfection in order to forgive their sin and bring them into His Kingdom. Read Psalm 103:12 which reminds us that God has removed our sins from us as far as the east is from the west.
