Advent 2025
This year as we remember the first advent in which Jesus came as a child to deal with sin, we will be reflecting on the implications of the second advent in which Jesus came by His Spirit to make sinners new. For the last few months, we have been studying the book of Galatians together. The last two chapters of Galatians have shown us the importance of walking by the Spirit, sowing to the Spirit, and pursuing the fruit of the Spirit. So, our emphasis this advent season will be on how the rhythm of Christmas, advent, and anticipation can be a vehicle for presenting ourselves in a fuller way before God so that His Spirit can work in us.
My prayer this advent season is that each of us will see real growth in the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. How can we put ourselves in the position to see God work in that way? By spending time in His word, in prayer, and with His Spirit this month. I pray this devotional stirs you up in those goals.
